NATURAL REDEFINING RENEWAL

WHAT WE DO

Program houses 8-10 wilderness male and female residents.
Program taxes both mentally and physically.

Images Program

Images programs are designed to assist our residents individually in analyzing their respective sense and personal view of who the really are, not who they have become. We incorporate activities and new thinking that supports individualized in-depth investigation of self-image.

As you would imagine this process generates a very personal strategy of contemplation that leads to brutal honesty, frustration, and motivation. This program is often selected by residents to act as their personal treatment model to resolve problems relating to drug and alcohol addiction, abuse, and current life circumstances.

Images has a foundation embedded in cognitive behavioral re-alignment and renewal (CBR&R) a practical off shoot of cognitive behavioral therapy and is supported by elements of mindfulness. We define cognitions as “the mental process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experiences, and the senses”. We have designed the Seven Ponds experience to do just that with individualized daily routines and activities based on the residents’ strength’s, needs, abilities and preferences (SNAP).

History

Over the years we have discovered most of our residents suffer from cognitive dissonance, the primary symptom of which is mental stress, discomfort, and polarization by those who hold two or more contradictory, clashing beliefs, ideas and values, or have been confronted by new information that clashes with developed values and beliefs.

Individuals who suffer from alcohol and drug abuse, misuse and addiction are often consumed by cognitive dissonance. At Seven Ponds we have moved away from the traditional cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) clinical approach, focusing on the experiential approach of cognitive renewal and realignment.

OUR GOAL

Connect with nature

Focusing on each resident’s self-image as outlined in their daily thinking patterns, which generate daily activity patterns, each resident develops their own unique abilities to disrupt and displace self-defeating thoughts and subsequent mental images.

Growing evidence from brain imaging research suggests that individuals who create and initiate their own thinking interventions can produce changes in brain chemistry similar to medications when they work. These changes can be initiated and thrive as a daily routine. This is our goal.
