Seven Ponds is the national base camp for our wilderness renewal operations. The Wilderness Renewal philosophy is centered on rebuilding the thinking and behavioral tendencies of those who suffer from substance abuse and addiction.
Our primary wilderness experience strategy centers on providing individualized, and direct multi-dimensional services; designed to identify, analyze, and initiate change in the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual platforms that are at the core of self-defeating thinking and behaviors. Using components of Motivational Enhancement, including a stages of change model, participants are guided by trained wilderness professionals through daily activities designed to refocus their value system and self-perception.
Wilderness Renewal activities always begin on the Seven Ponds ranch. The program houses 8-10 wilderness male and female residents who have been accepted based on referrals and appropriateness for the wilderness setting. The program is taxing both mentally and physically and include meditation, stretching, breathing exercises, creativity projects, kayaking, cooking and journaling.
